Prototype of an Electric Motorbike
Canjamoto
Canjamoto is a Toronto-based, start-up company focused on the development and commercialization of high performance electric motorcycles. Richard Minott, President & owner of Canjamoto, approached GBC to collaborate on the development of a high performance electric full-race motorbike to compete on the TTXGP circuit. TTXGP, the eGrandPrix is an international race series providing a high profile platform for the development of electric motorcycles, enabling the futuristic technology behind them to be tested in an exciting and challenging way. TTXGP aims to drive low carbon technological innovation forward, to demonstrate that clean-emission transport technologies have matured and can be fun, fast and exciting. Canjamoto has invested resources into the design of the bike prototype, including the chassis, motor and transmission. Assistance is requested on the battery, controller and charger technology and integration into the working prototype. This project would fit into the curriculum for 3rd year Mechanical Engineering students’ term project. The project provides good visibility for the program. There may be a way to involve GBC students in the Canjamoto pit crew at TTXGP events.
