Manufacturing process automation for premium toothpick flavouring and branding

Daneson Ltd. (Daneson) is a Toronto-based company providing flavoured toothpicks to high end retailers globally. Daneson’s current offering of four natural non-alcoholic gourmet flavours and two infused with premium spirits are sold in store such as Collete in Paris, Restoration Hardware and Dean & DeLuca. This partnership between Daneson and George Brown College’s School of Mechanical Engineering Technology will lead to the development of customized process automation solutions for Daneson’s toothpick flavouring and bottling process. The implementation of these solutions at Daneson’s manufacturing facility will yield improved product consistency, quality and shelf-life, increase production capacity and reduce production costs. In support of this, George Brown College and Daneson will collaborate to investigate, design and prototype discreet elements of the automated line that include: (1) Branding module, (2) Singulate, Count and Gather module and (3) Flavouring and Packaging module.
