Design and prototype of mobile climbing platform can be used in low-rise construction jobsites

Quantum Robotic Systems (QRS) is a Canadian, start-up company dedicated to developing and commercializing service robots and related automated products. QRS has developed a proof of concept Rev-0 novel climbing technology to be used on construction sites as a personal lift assistant. The technology can be used as a safer alternative to external elevators, lifts, or cranes on low-rise jobsites where these options are not feasible. While having a smaller physical footprint and environmental impact, the technology offers an affordable, simplified, and remote-controllable alternative to current robotic methods for climbing stairs. QRS is collaborating with the George Brown College (GBC) and the Centre for Construction and Engineering Technology (CCET) to advance prototype Rev-0 from a proof-of-concept to a functional proof-of-concept prototype Rev-1. The objectives of this project include: the advancement of the climbing technology into a more fully-functional, production-ready form, the integration of the climbing technology with a mobile robotic base, and a demonstration of how the prototype performs under real-world test conditions.
