Digital Experience Design of Select App Components
Skillpod Inc.
Skillpod is an educational technology, pre-revenue start-up based in Toronto, whose focus is an executive skills coaching program targeted at helping people ages 18-25 build, demonstrate and articulate 7 skills critical for working and living in the digital economy.
These seven skills include what people think of as traditional “soft skills” like communication, self management and teamwork but also include Smarter Learning, Strategic Thinking, Design and Innovation and Information Management. Currently, the seven skill learning program is delivered as in-person workshops of up to 30 students at a time. The current priority is to develop a digital platform to increase scalability and reach for the skills learning program. Skillpod has a website in development that will have one element of a self-assessment active for testing, and also has a prototype (InVision/Sketch) of a web app in development which will help facilitate conversations with potential clients, including institutions and SMEs. The content of the program has been piloted and tested via workshops and with 2 volunteer students who are working through the program with the goal of providing feedback.
The proposed research seeks to assist SkillPod in the migration of their seven skill learning program from live workshops to an interactive digital platform, specifically targeted at the 18-25 year-old demographic.
